Call for Applications: OpenEU International Student Week 2026 on intercultural perspectives on the climate crisis

The FernUniversität in Hagen (Germany) is thrilled to announce the International Student Week 2026, held in the framework of OpenEU. Taking place from 30 November to 4 December 2026 at FernUniversität in Hagen, this event serves as a transdisciplinary platform for the students of the future.

A Focus on intercultural perspectives on the climate crisis

The programme centres on how people in different parts of the world perceive, experience, and respond to the climate crisis. Participants from selected disciplines are welcomed to explore psychological, cultural and behavioural perspectives on climate change.

Programme highlights:

• Interactive workshops and expert talks providing insights into intercultural psychology and decision-making.

• Small group project work where you will work in an international team to develop your own idea, concept or research question related to climate change, culture and human behaviour.

• Real-world perspectives, discussions, social activities, networking and shared experiences.

Practical Information:

• Participation Fee: There is no participation fee for this event.

• Institutional Support / Funding: Participants may obtain funding for travel to and accommodation in Hagen through Erasmus+ short-term mobility funding from their home institution (Erasmus+ BIP, 3 ECTS). Additional OpenEU funding is available for underrepresented student groups, and a hostel in Hagen will be reserved.

Who can apply:

• Master's students of psychology, economics and related fields enrolled at any OpenEU university.

How to Apply:

Interested students interested in intercultural exchange and global challenges can apply. No prior expertise needed — curiosity and motivation are key. All applications must include:

• Short motivation letter (maximum 1 page).
