Call for OpenEU mentors: support new students and make a difference!
The OpenEU Alliance is looking for committed and empathetic students to join our Mentoring Program. This initiative aims to foster inclusive academic environments by addressing the specific needs of underrepresented student groups. These groups include migrants and refugees, women in STEAM fields, students with disabilities, and individuals from rural areas.

Who we are looking for
To become an OpenEU Mentor, you must meet the following criteria:
Be enrolled in a bachelor program
Have completed at least 105 ECTS of degree.
Sensitivity and orientation towards accessibility, interculturality, community mental health, and human rights.
General knowledge of disability, assistive technologies, and physical and digital accessibility.
Availability to carry out the mentoring program for at least 6 sessions (throughout the academic year).
Your role as a mentor
As an experienced student, you will accompany mentees throughout their academic and personal adaptation process at the university. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Providing academic guidance, personal and emotional support, and assistance in the use of institutional resources and digital tools.
Fostering student autonomy, promoting their ability to make informed decisions and manage their own learning process.
Establishing and maintaining the regularity of mentoring sessions.
Completing the session follow-up form after each mentoring session.
What you will receive
By participating, you will receive:
An initial training of 25 hours (requested for recognition of 1 ECTS credit).
Training designed to develop key competencies aligned with the European LifeComp and DigComp frameworks, which emphasize personal, social, and digital skills.
A certificate acknowledging your work as a mentor throughout the academic year.
