UOC hosts FernUniversität in Hagen to strengthen OpenEU alliance collaboration
One of the core aims of the OpenEU alliance is to foster stable relationships and trust among its members. The ultimate objective is to strengthen collaboration between the institutions, and to share approaches to digital education, research, organisational transformation, and sustainability in open and distance higher education.
In line with this, last June, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) hosted a visit from the Rector of FernUniversität in Hagen, Stefan Stürmer, and the General Manager of the German university, Michael Strotkemper.

The visitors were officially welcomed by UOC Rector, Àngels Fitó Bertran, and the General Manager, Jordi Marin Puigpelat. Their arrival paved the way for several working sessions between academic and management teams, aimed at sharing and exchanging strategic models and practices.

One of the key topics and challenges currently high on the agenda at both universities is the role of AI and the impact it should have on Higher Education.
