OpenEU PhD Courses
The OpenEU Alliance is pleased to invite expressions of interest from PhD candidates enrolled to OpenEU universities to participate to free online courses which will be offered to PhD candidates across all OpenEU partner universities, from mid-October onwards. These courses are planned to be delivered on an annual basis and will offer training and networking opportunities across the alliance throughout the project.
The online courses cover the following topics:
Search and Management of Scientific Information for the PhD (offered by UNED)
Online Teaching Methods & Material Production (offered by HOU)

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
Submit a letter of motivation explaining the research goals and interests, motivation and suitability for the course.
Submit a CV highlighting the educational background, research experience etc.
Submit a complete expression of interest, prioritizing their preferences, before the deadline.
Applications will be reviewed and participants selected by a panel of representatives from the OpenEU partner institutions, coordinated through the Work Package 4 Board. This board is the group responsible for doctoral education and research training within the OpenEU project.
Selection will be based on:
Assessment of the candidate’s research interests, skills, and suitability for the course.
A balanced representation of selected individuals across participating institutions, stage of progress in the PhD research, gender, etc.

Selected candidates will be notified by 7 October 2026.
