From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (recommended)

From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Den Haag Centraal, you'll typically find these direct train services:

  • NS Intercity – the most common and recommended option (about 30–35 minutes).

  • NS Sprinter – a slower regional train that also runs directly at certain times, stopping at more stations (about 45–55 minutes).

    This is the easiest route for most international visitors.

  1. Follow signs to the train station beneath the airport terminal.

  2. Take a direct NS Intercity train to Den Haag Centraal (The Hague Central).

    • Journey time: about 30–35 minutes

    • Trains run frequently throughout the day.

  3. From Den Haag Centraal, choose one of these options:

    • Walk about 12 minutes to Spui 5.

    • Take tram 2, 3, 4, 6, or 34 to Spui.

    • Or take tram 15 or bus 22, 24, or 28 to Centrum, then walk 2–3 minutes.

From Rotterdam The Hague Airport

  1. Take RET bus 33 to Rotterdam Centraal Station.

  2. Board an NS Intercity train to Den Haag Centraal (about 20–25 minutes).

  3. Walk or take one of the trams listed above to Universiteitscampus Spui.

Total travel time is typically 45–60 minutes, depending on connections.

From Eindhoven Airport

  1. Take bus 400 or 401 to Eindhoven Centraal.

  2. Take an Intercity train to Den Haag Centraal (usually with one transfer, often at Utrecht Centraal).

  3. Walk or take the tram to Spui.

Allow about 2 to 2½ hours.

From Brussels Airport (Belgium)

  1. Take a Belgian train to Brussels Midi/Zuid.

  2. Board an international train (EuroCity or EuroCity Direct, depending on service) to Rotterdam Centraal.

  3. Transfer to an NS train for Den Haag Centraal.

  4. Walk or take the tram to Spui.

Travel time is generally 2½–3 hours.

If arriving by train

From Den Haag Centraal

  • Walk: 12 minutes

  • Or tram:

    • 2, 3, 4, 6, or 34 → Spui

    • 15 → Centrum

From Den Haag Hollands Spoor (HS)

  • Walk: about 18 minutes

  • Or take:

    • Tram 1 or 10 → Centrum, then walk a couple of minutes.

Practical tips

  • You can tap your contactless Visa/Mastercard, smartphone wallet (Apple Pay/Google Pay), or Dutch OV-chipkaart on trains, trams, and buses. No paper ticket is required for most visitors.

  • Use the NS app for train times and the 9292 journey planner for door-to-door public transport.
