A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.

Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

About this process

Organisation description:

Blanquerna Scout Group is a non-profit association founded in Tortosa, Catalonia (Spain) in the 1980s with the aim of offering summer activities to a group of children and young people from the city.  The project began with holiday  camps, overnight camps, outings and other leisure activities, primarily aimed at those with fewer opportunities to access them. The organisation, which was born out of volunteering, has since grown and incorporated projects through professionalisation. It has been recognised as a Public Utility organisation since 2016.

It is an organisation rooted in the local area (Terres de l'Ebre) that is dedicated to the promotion, facilitation, management and monitoring of projects aimed at improving equality of opportunity for the people of the area.

The mission of the Blanquerna Playgroup is to promote an integrated and inclusive society, based on community personalism within the framework of Christian humanism, with special attention to people and sectors at the highest risk of exclusion.

The Blanquerna Leisure Group aims to be a leading organisation in the local area for social action, committed to the most vulnerable. An organisation that, through its critical reflection, responds to the changing diversity of social needs with quality, using its own resources and/or supporting other organisations and institutions working in this field, always seeking equity.
